Injector Opening Time ms is the amount of time required for the injector to go from a fully closed state to a fully opened state when a Since fuel injectors are electro-mechanical devices with mass, they have latency between the time a signal is applied and the time they are in steady-state spraying mode. Typically, this value is very close to 1. However, it is very likely that a small amount actually is injected. Thus making this value larger will enrich the mix and will have a much greater effect at low pulse widths. Injections per Engine Cycle is set the number of squirts you want per engine cycle. You want this to be set so that your idle pulse width is no less than 2. These values allow proper tuning of the idle mixture while maintaining the ability to apply enrichments acceleration, warm-up, etc. Injector Staging values for injector staging are simultaneous or alternating. If you want all your injectors to fire at once, select simultaneous.
The problem is that people fit voltmeters wired to the green circuit, which can be a couple of volts lower than the solenoid i. It’s battery voltage which is important, and any volt-drop between there and the green circuit is down to ageing connections, and the best alternator in the world isn’t going to cure them, although it may cover them up. This was the case in the 5-pin 2-plug 16ACR from 69 to Initially the 3-pin single-plug alternators used machine sensing i.
Apr 21, · Q: How do I hook up an aftermarket Tachometer? A: If this is an 86/87, there is a green connector with a spade connector on the driver’s side of the engine, roughly behind the A/C compressor.
Roush, of course, is synonymous with Mustangs, having created some pretty incredible turnkey specialty Mustangs, packing a ton of performance, for their big catalog of performance products aiming to make your Mustang look, sound and perform even better. Of course, sound is what we’re talking about here today, guys. Roush has really planted their flag in the aftermarket exhaust world here with the Mustang and has really become a fan favorite as of late.
As you guys just heard, the Extreme definitely lives up to its name as being a very aggressive axle-back available for your three valve powered GT, that is definitely going to turn some heads when installed. As for the pricing, guys, you’re going to find this system to fall right in the middle of the road as far as aftermarket axle-backs are concerned for your ’05 to ’09 car. With all that out of the way guys, let’s talk about how the Extreme gets its sound.
As you can see on the surface here it’s pretty obvious. That’s because there’s really no mufflers to speak of. Instead, Roush decided to use two straight through high flow resonators in place of those traditional mufflers to get that really deep throaty grunt. Of course, the best part is you’re not going to have to worry about having any interior drone while cruising on the highway.
How to hook up a tachometer for a 1999 ford escort SE?
In Yamaha lexicon, the “Lighting Coil” is the source of the battery charging current. The coil that Yamaha calls the “Charging Coil” is not used for battery charging; it is part of the electronic spark generation for the engine spark plugs. The frequency of the pulses varies with the speed of rotation of the engine flywheel.

Where exactly to hook up digital RPM meter? Synchronizing throttle bodies on 04′ R1? Originally posted by zee I’m planning on checking the synchronization on my throttle bodies for my 04′ R1. It says it should be checked at miles. My bike already has miles on it. I’m planning on purchasing a device such as a digital tachometer with alligator clips, or a digital timing gun with RPM gauge and a spark plug wire clamp as the sensor.
Where do I connect either the alligator clips I know the red alligator clip on the instructions say to connect to the negative of the coil , if I purchase a digital tachometer? If I get the digital timing gun, where can I connect the spark plug wire sensor clamp?

Philly area Not a fan of 1-wire alternators in a car that’s going to see a lot of idling and low speed operation. They’re easy to hook up, but their downfall is a dramatic fall-off in output at low RPMs plus they can’t run the idiot light on the dash, which I kind of like to keep functional. I think the 12SI style alternator originally came out around A Remy remanufactured or equivalent is a literal bolt-in. Even your existing electricals will plug right on and the terminals are all still in the exact same location on the alternator case.
It doesn’t tell the whole story.
This article on how to install an electric tachometer in a jiffy doesn’t really have anything to do with Project X other than that ’57 is the granddaddy to Super Chevy’s SS Chevelle.
Mike Ervin Update by: All of these gauges are in-dash units so I had to figure out how I was going to mount them. I have seen setups with all of them mounted on the face of the bezel, and also using the billet aluminum replacement bezel that you can buy from LMC. I just didn’t like the way it looked after you get them in. The gauges are tilted forward on the same plain as the bezel which makes it hard to see them. After a lot of thought I went ahead and ordered the gauges still not fully having made up my mind on what I was going to do.

September 30, , The simple fact is many of us using Smartcraft enjoyed many years of digital features way before the rest of the industry produced NMEA This is a look at a prototype that Merc gave me. I received it with no installation instructions.
Any of the above are telling you it’s time to check out your oil pressure. Note I said “pressure” not “level” the warning system does not detect low oil level (unless the level is .
Search General Motors temperature gauge troubleshooting Temperature gauge troubleshooting begins with isolating the problem either to the gauge, sending unit, fuse or wiring. As with any electrical troubleshooting it is best to check all wiring connections are clean, tight and free of corrosion. The first place to start is at the temperature-sending unit. Remove the wire from the temperature-sending unit located on the engine typically a dark green wire.
Then connect the wire to a good ground. You can do this by using a jumper wire. If the needle does not move, remove the same dark green wire from back of the gauge and connect a jumper from the terminal on the back of the gauge to a good ground. If it does not move, connect a test light by grounding one end to a good known ground and the other end to positive side of the gauge typically a pink wire. If it does not illuminate, ensure the gas gauge fuse is good.
If the fuse is good, connect a jumper wire between the ignition switch and the positive side of the gauge. If the gauge now works, replace the defective wiring between the gauge and the ignition switch. If the test light illuminates there is 12 volts present, replace the temperature gauge.
How to Install a Tachometer in Your Car
The earliest timed spark ignitions used a spring loaded mechanical switch actuated by a cam. The cam forces the switch open and the spring closes it again. The switch connects the negative lead of the ignition coil primary to ground.
Corvette Tachometer Repair. Beginning in , Corvettes started using electronic tachometers. When these tachs start to malfunction, the problem usually is the circuit board. This is a very easy problem to fix and just about anyone can do it. Start by making a phone call or ordering online at Zip Corvette Parts.
Diagnose Fuel Gauge Copyright AA1Car Nothing is more aggravating than a fuel gauge that doesn’t give an accurate reading, especially when the gauge shows there’s still fuel in the tank when there really is not. Faulty readings can be caused by a bad sending unit, a problem with the gauge, or shorts, opens or weak connections in the wiring that links the two together.
But which one is it? In , the first float arm gas gauge appeared. A float mounted on a hinged arm moved a mechanical pointer on gauge on the outside of the fuel tank to indicate the fuel level. The idea was taken one step further when vehicles started to get better electrical systems by connecting the hinged float arm to a rheostat. This allows an electrically operated fuel gauge to be mounted in the vehicle’s dashboard. And that’s the basic operating principle that is still in use today.
There are essentially three types of fuel gauges:
